The Cathedral Consort, which was established under this name in January, 2012, is the auxiliary choir at St Paul's Cathedral, that sings during times that The Cathedral Choir is on recess or on tour. The purpose of The Cathedral Consort is twofold: to provide full choral settings of the offices, and to provide an opportunity to sing for people who are both interested in choral repertoire, and fond of the excellent Anglican tradition of cathedral music. A typical schedule for the Consort involves rehearsing once per month (on a Wednesday evening), and singing at least one service per term, such as a Choral Eucharist or a Choral Evensong. Membership to The Cathedral Consort is open to anybody who is interested in, and has some experience in singing; entry to the choir is unaudtioned. Any membership enquiries should be directed to George Chittenden (Director of Music), who will be delighted to hear from you. He can be contacted via the Cathedral Office, on 03-477-2336, or by email, at email@example.com.
